چکیده
Abstract Introduction Lifestyle habits play a crucial role on coronary artery disease (CAD) prevention. Exercise training promotes increase of HDL-C and decrease plasma triglycerides is an important tool against atherogenesis. determination evaluates only partially the HDL status anti-atherosclerotic potential. A number other parameters also relates metabolism function with CAD, such as subclass distribution cholesterol transfer to HDL, that have been reported impaired in CAD. It known exercise can improve those young individuals, but it has not explored whether this effect be obtained elderly subjects undergoing moderate training. Purpose Investigate effects regular practice subclasses compared subjects. Methods 111 healthy were enrolled study, divided four groups paired by sex: active (AE, n=25), inactive (IE, n=21), (AY, n=40) (IY, n=25). All performed cardiopulmonary test determine VO2 peak answered questionnaire about practice; practicing for at least one year selected 2 “active” groups. Blood samples collected lipid apolipoprotein profile. Lipid subfractions measured using Lipoprint system. Cholesterol was incubating donor lipoprotein-like nanoparticle containing radioactively labeled unesterified (UC) esterified (EC), followed chemical precipitation radioactive count. Results Data are shown Table 1. Higher both confirmed effectiveness higher AE AY than IE IY; apo A-I IY, equal. UC EC Large subfraction The intermediate IE. Comparing AY, no differences EC, well observed. Conclusion Training had ability remarkable that, despite their lower peak, group transfers profile similar group. Those results confirm features elderly. Funding Acknowledgement Type funding sources: Foundation. Main source(s): Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado São Paulo

HDL and cardiovascular risk: is cholesterol in particle subclasses relevant?
Dyslipidaemia is one of the major risk factors for the development of cardiovascular disease, which remains the leading cause of death in the world. Despite major advances in the treatment of dyslipidaemia, residual cardiovascular risk remains high in a significant number of patients, a fact that has prompted intensive investigation of medications raising HDL-cholesterol (HDL-C). Indeed, robust...
متن کاملEffect of Hydroalcoholic Extract of Perovskia abrotanoides on Glucose, Cholesterol and HDL Levels in Diabetic Rats
Background and purpose: Diabetes mellitus is a highly prevalent disease and there is a global interest in using traditional and herbal medicine in treatment of this disease and other diseases. This study aimed at comparing the effects of hydroalcoholic extract of Perovskia abrotanoides and Glibenclamide on serum glucose, HDL, and cholesterol levels in diabetic rates. Materials and methods: In ...
متن کاملHigh-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) in cardiovascular disease: effect of exercise training
Decreases in high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) levels are associated with an increased risk of coronary artery disease (CAD), whereas increased HDL-C levels are related to a decreased risk of CAD and myocardial infarction. Although HDL prevents the oxidation of low-density lipoprotein under normal conditions, it triggers a structural change, inhibiting antiarteriosclerotic and anti-i...

In Iran, the hydrogenated vegetable oil have content of frans fatty acids and high per capita consumption.this study was aimed to evaliate the effects of substitution of hydrogenated oil by sunflower liquid oil on plasma levels of LDL,HDL, total cholestero and triglycerids in normal subjects.thirty six healthy inmates participated in this research. they were consuming hydrogenated oil before the...
متن کاملEnzymatic assessment of cholesterol on electrophoresis gels for estimating HDL size distribution and plasma concentrations of HDL subclasses.
The aim of this study was to develop an enzymatic cholesterol staining method to determine HDL subclasses in a polyacrylamide gradient gel electrophoresis, which further allows staining by protein in the same electrophoresis lane. HDLs from 120 healthy individuals were separated through nondenaturing PAGE. HDLs were stained for cholesterol using an enzymatic semisolid mixture. Once the gels wer...
